About Me

Via Goode is a Coastal Virginia Wolf Trap teaching artist.

Via Goode is a former preschool teacher, teacher’s aide, and substitute teacher. She has been a professional storyteller since 2011, headlining hundreds of performances in public and private schools and at various public libraries in Hampton Roads. Via is a member of the Virginia Storytelling Alliance, the National Storytelling Network, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). After first joining Arts for Learning in 2012, Via was named the Teaching Artist of the year in 2015.

Via has also been trained through the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning. Wolf Trap teaching artists partner with teachers and caregivers of children ages four to six-years-old to improve learning through the performing arts: using music, dance, drama, and puppetry to bring literacy and math concepts to life!

My Testimonials

"Today our 1st and 2nd graders enjoyed an engaging folktale presentation titled Tales of Goodness. Ms. Goode with Arts for Learning was great with our students.”

~ Termaine Hopkins, Principal, Waller Mill Elementary School in York County

A Force for the Arts: Honoring Minette Cooper

In Hampton Roads, the arts are a living, breathing presence—heard in the rhythm of a drum circle, seen in a dancer’s arc across a school gym, felt in the hush that follows a poem. Few people did more to ensure those moments could happen than Minette Cooper. Her leadership, vision, and relentless belief in the […]
