About Me
Founded in 2009 by David F. Riddick, the Riddick Dance Company is the first African American professional contemporary dance company in Hampton Roads. The company is acclaimed for its dramatic expression, technical mastery, and expansive yet nuanced movements that illustrate the timelessness of the work and vision of Riddick and Marshall Swiney. The company’s repertory includes original works and new commissions from contemporary choreographers. Riddick Dance also operates Hampton’s Beauty for Ashes Contemporary School of Dance, which offers a wide range of classes for adults and children of all ages.
