Program Description
Students will learn about and honor Japanese culture through an ancient Japanese art form, taiko, from sensei (teacher) Ron Collins. In this interactive program, students respond to, describe, interpret, and evaluate works of music both as performers and listeners. To demonstrate this traditional Japanese art form, Ron uses a collection of taiko drums he made from discarded barrels.
