About Me
Ron Collins is a taiko drumming performer and instructor who has shared this art form with thousands of students and families. He graduated from Virginia Tech with English and business degrees, never dreaming he would become a professional artist. After a five-year internship of intensive training under a sensei (teacher), Ron began performing in public. Using a collection of taiko drums he made from discarded barrels, Ron entertains and educates students with an exciting presentation of an ancient Japanese art form.
Tampa Taiko is a touring ensemble from Virginia. Please contact Katie Driskill, School and Community Relationships Coordinator, at 757-961-3737 to discuss tour availability!
