About Me

Martha Hills and Don Depoy, performing as Me & Martha, are master musicians who arrange, harmonize, and weave together stories in their songs. They’re members of America’s Country Music Hall of Fame and are on the Virginia Commission for the Arts’ artist roster as traditional Appalachian music-makers.

Don holds a PhD specializing in American Music and Popular Culture and currently teaches most bluegrass instruments at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Martha plays upright bass and is an early childhood educator who has taught K-5 in private/public schools and the Eastern Mennonite University Preparatory Music Program. The duo are married and live in Swoope, Virginia.

Me & Martha are a touring ensemble from Roanoke, Virginia. Please contact Katie Driskill, School and Community Relationships Coordinator, at 757-961-3737 to discuss tour availability!

What is a tour? A tour is a set number of programs (3-10) scheduled within a specific time span (2-5 days) and within a specific region. Tours are subject to change or cancellation if the minimum number of programs and/or dates are not met.

All tour pricing is subject to change based on number of programs, travel distance, hotel stays, and meals. Please contact us if you have any questions.

A Journey of Presence, Creativity, and Heart-Centered Teaching

“Every young learner I work with walks away knowing they have personal power to choose and be the editor in chief of their own life story.”

At Arts for Learning Virginia, we’re proud to be part of the Virginia Commission for the Arts’ Passport Program. While Passport holders typically receive free admission and 50% off classes at participating organizations, all our programming is always free—no discount needed.
