About Me
Lawrence Sawyer is a percussionist who has served as an instructor in steelpan for Mosaic Steel Orchestra. He plays the drums in a jazz band, Fortresses, which released two studio-recorded singles in 2019. His success as a teaching artist is partially shaped by his experiences working in Newport News Public Schools as a math tutor and a former girls JV soccer coach.
