About Me
A lifelong artist, Karen Spaulding specializes in “plein air” art, the act of painting outside, and especially loves painting botanicals. Her work has been exhibited and sold in several galleries along the Gulf Coast and Virginia. After earning her BFA at the University of Michigan’s School of Art & Design, she ran her own freelance graphic design business for more than 20 years. Karen is a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society, the American Society of Botanical Artists, Virginia Plein Air Painters, Chesapeake Bay Watercolorists and currently instructs plein air courses at the Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center in Hampton.
