“Every young learner I work with walks away knowing they have personal power to choose and be the editor in chief of their own life story.”
About Me
Arts for Learning’s Gary “G” Garlic Jr. is a singer and musician who plays piano, drums, bass, and guitar. From a young age, he received extensive training from his father, longtime A4L percussionist JuJu Drum. In 2024, G graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Shenandoah University, where he performed with multiple concert and percussion ensembles and was the music director of the Harambee Gospel Choir and the Contempo Ensemble. Since then, he has taught at Young Musicians of Virginia in Virginia Beach and Quality Music and Dance in Chesapeake.
Gary has also been trained through the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning. Wolf Trap teaching artists partner with teachers and caregivers of children ages four to six-years-old to improve learning through the performing arts: using music, dance, drama, and puppetry to bring literacy and math concepts to life!
