About Me
Asiko-oluwa Aderin is a visual artist who earned her Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design from Norfolk State University. She was the first artist to graduate from our Emerging Teaching Artist program to become a Teaching Artist on the Arts for Learning Virginia roster. As a multimedia artist, Asiko describes her art in this way: “My works reflect issues of identity and my efforts to curate a unique definition of blackness that fits my experience. To do this, I use symbols and linework inspired by West African writing systems and media such as printmaking and ceramics.”
