Program Description
In this workshop, students will express themselves through spoken word poetry while exploring other types of art, current events, and their own places within the world. Under the poetry slam format, students must adhere to specific structures as they work together as a team, which helps alleviate the stress of directly expressing feelings and hopes. This workshop will enhance students’ literacy knowledge and appreciation for the creation of both written and performed language while improving presentation skills and encouraging self-confidence.
