Program Description
Experience a joyful and engaging workshop presented by master percussionist, Gary Garlic. His dynamic performance style garnered him tours with musical legends like Stevie Wonder. In the classroom, Gary will have participants writing poetry to percussive rhythms and learning multiple rhythm types based on their individual abilities. Teamwork is encouraged as participants are placed in groups of four to six to craft collaborative poetry paired with their selected rhythms. After building their percussive poetry routine “from the drum up,” each group closes the workshop with an opportunity to perform for their peers while Gary cheers them on.
