Program Description
Experience a joyful and engaging workshop presented by percussionist Gary Garlic. Students will write poetry to percussive rhythms and learn multiple rhythm types based on their individual abilities. Teamwork is encouraged as students are placed in small groups to craft collaborative poetry paired with their selected rhythms. After building their percussive poetry routine “from the drum up,” each group closes the workshop with an opportunity to perform for their peers while Gary cheers them on.

Technical Requirements
Desks, paper, and pens/pencils for each student. Clean, clear, swept space for activities – classroom preferred. Access to electricity.
