Program Description
Sheila Arnold will share stories about the African American experience in Chesapeake, using information from the Chesapeake’s Convention and Visitor Bureau’s new Heritage Trail. This program will include stories, songs, poetry, and multi-media where available. Heritage Trail Brochures will be provided to every student who has seen the program, to encourage students to read and provide an example of writing and creativity that students can model in later educational work.

Technical Requirements
Maximum 3 programs/per day with ½ hour between programs.
Virtual Arts Experiences: Technical requirements are flexible based on the host’s capabilities. Virtual programs may not be able to be provided with the Heritage Trail brochures and students would be directed to the Chesapeake CVB page.
In-Person Performances: Clean, clear, swept stage, one microphone on a stand, 1 adult-sized, non-rocking, non-rolling chair, 15 minutes between programs. Bottle of water per program. If there is the availability to have a white screen and/or a projector – that would be a great option! Need to know the total # of students to be seen at least 3 weeks in advance in order to receive Heritage Trail brochures. May need to have the school’s address in order to have brochures mailed to the school. Teachers may be asked to pass out the brochures to their students.
