Program Description
Students will use computer modeling to explore the principles of 3-dimensional design. Blender, the application of choice, will be used to create 3D dimensional objects to be ready-made for 3D printing. Students will learn about proportion in 3D space (scale, position, perspective), negative space, rhythm, light, and shadow. The workshop also includes general information about filament handling, filament types, filament installation/removal, as well as the basic handling and knowledge of 3D slicer program MakerBot Print/3D Cura. Students completing this program will gain the ability to create well designed 3D printed models and be familiar with basic polygonal modeling.
