About Me

Experience the thunderous rhythms of the ancestral Japanese Taiko drums and the magical sounds of bamboo flutes. Drawing from Japan’s rich musical tradition, Taikoza has created a new sound using a variety of instruments for a performance filled with electrifying, room-thumping energy. With colorful traditional costumes and dynamic motion making for a highly visual performance, Taikoza’s shows are immensely popular with students and audiences of all ages.

Taikoza was formed in New York City, and the ensemble has toured internationally since 1999, performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Osaka Festival Hall, Lincoln Center, and many others.

Taikoza is a touring ensemble from New York. Please contact Aisha Noel, School and Community Relationships Coordinator, at 757-961-3737 to discuss tour availability!

What is a tour? A tour is a set number of programs (3-10) scheduled within a specific time span (2-5 days) and within a specific region. Tours are subject to change or cancellation if the minimum number of programs and/or dates are not met.

All tour pricing is subject to change based on number of programs, travel distance, hotel stays, and meals. Please contact us if you have any questions.

An Artistic Tribute to Marty Einhorn

A very special—and poignant—Arts for Learning performance this month honored the life and legacy of former board president Marty Einhorn. A4L’s Rita Cohen performed A World of Song and Dance as a free performance in memory of Marty, who died in 2021 at the age of 63. After Marty’s death, Arts for Learning […]
