Program Description
This program is designed to guide students through the process of how to research, write, and tell a family story. With a strong focus on the writing process, there is an even stronger emphasis on enhancing effective communication of the family story by using the art of storytelling. Each student receives a step-by-step plan to 1) Successfully conduct an interview of a family member, such as a grandparent; 2) Decide on a theme for their story; 3) Write rough drafts; 4) Receive instruction to enhance writing; 5) Learn storytelling techniques such as voice inflections, expressions, and body movements; 6) Effectively tell their story.
