YA Network TA Professional Learning Opportunity: Building the Core Competencies of TA Practice

YA National and Arts for Learning Virginia are pleased to invite YA network teaching artists to professional learning opportunities this summer, designed and facilitated by fellow network teaching artists who have received the YA National Teaching Artist Credential. This interactive online learning series will offer practical strategies that TAs of all experience levels and arts disciplines can readily apply to their work in school and community settings. The sessions will include time for application and discussion, allowing opportunities to connect and network with peer artists from across the country.

The three online sessions will center on the four competency areas of the Credential: Planning, Preparation, Instruction, and Artistry:
• Designing a High Quality Lesson Plan: August 5, 4:00-6:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time)
• Best Practices for Instruction: August 12, 4:00-6:00 p.m. (EDT)
• Teaching Artist Community Chat (an open conversation that will include discussion of the artistry competency): August 13, 4:00-5:30 p.m. (EDT)

Attending all three sessions is recommended, but not required.

This series is free and open to all Young Audiences network teaching artists. However, space is limited, so seats will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Arts for Learning TAs should contact Aisha Noel for more information on how to register!
